Packing is not one of my favorite things about travel, but it is a necessary evil. For this trip, we are each limited to one piece of checked luggage with a maximum weight of 50 lbs.
I've received lots of advice over the years, from exhaustive lists of everything I might think about bringing along, to instructions on how to travel with nothing more than a backpack for a month.
Neither of these options work for me.
However, here are some articles and web sites on the issue that may be of interest:

What have you learned along the way about packing?
There was a report on the Today Show 9/2 about one of their staff wearing the same outfit (five different pieces of clothing -- not including underwear) and having outfits for many, many days by just layering and changing some jewelry or a scarf. It was very interesting. This is great for when you travel.

ReplyDeleteI've spent years packing for business trips as well as vacations, and I still don't have it right. Even limiting myself to a basic black color scheme (a la Joy Behar's Sicilian widow's wardrobe) with some color accessories, I cannot get by with just a carry on bag for a week. Between shoes, makeup, toiletries, and my biggest issue, books, I simply cannot make it in a 22" bag.
