Leather School in Florence

If you're thinking of buying something leather while in Florence, you may want to stop into the Scuola del Cuoio, which has been teaching the craft of the leather trade for sixty years.
Originally begun to offer a trade education to orphans after World War II, the school is open to guests and sells the creations of its students and craftsmen.

You can read about the history of the school and see some of its products here:  http://www.scuoladelcuoio.com/index.html

Located in the frescoed halls of the monastery of Santa Croce, you can find the school from Piazza Santa Croce by walking down the street on the left side of the church until you come to an opening in the wall at #5R, Via San Giuseppe.
